Navigate to scarp.gov.za/verify and enter the SCRD Number in the search field.

Confirm the Details

Verify that the name, firm, province and professional category displayed match the person you are consulting.

Check the Status

Ensure the registration status shows [ ACTIVE ]. Do not engage professionals with [ SUSPENDED ] or [ INACTIVE ] status.

✓ Signs of a Legitimate Professional

  • Provides SCRD Number without hesitation
  • Appears in the SCARP National Registry as [ ACTIVE ]
  • Provides a written mandate before rendering services
  • Discloses all fees, commissions, and conflicts of interest
  • Issues a Record of Advice for every transaction
  • Has verifiable professional qualifications

⚠ Warning Signs of Financial Fraud

  • Unable or unwilling to provide a SCRD Number
  • Promises guaranteed returns or risk-free investments
  • Pressures you to invest immediately or urgently
  • Uses unofficial banking details or payment channels
  • Refuses to provide a written mandate or documentation
  • Cannot be found in the SCARP registry
